Shipping Policy
At Root + Residence, we partner with a curated network of manufacturers and fulfillment providers to deliver thoughtfully designed furniture and décor directly to your home. Because items may ship from different locations, shipping methods and timelines can vary by product.
Order Processing
Orders are typically processed within 1–5 business days (excluding weekends and holidays). Some made-to-order or high-demand pieces may require additional time—please refer to individual product pages for specific lead times.
Shipping & Delivery
Shipping costs and delivery options are calculated at checkout based on the size, weight, and delivery method selected for your item(s).
For larger furniture pieces, a delivery selection may be required at checkout. For smaller items, upgraded delivery services may be available as optional add-ons.
Delivery Options
When applicable, the following delivery options will be presented at checkout:
Standard Delivery (Curbside)
Delivered to your driveway or building entrance. No in-home placement, unpacking, or assembly included.
Threshold Delivery
Delivered to the first dry area inside your home (such as a garage or entryway). In multi-story buildings, delivery is made to a lobby or designated area. Appointment and signature required.
Room of Choice Delivery
Delivered to your room or designated area. Please ensure access through doorways, stairways, and hallways. Additional charges may apply for upper-floor deliveries. No unpacking or assembly included.
White Glove Delivery
Delivered to your room of choice with unpacking, light assembly, and full packaging removal included. Appointment and signature required. Customer must be present for the duration of delivery.
Delivery availability and requirements will be clearly indicated on each product page and at checkout.
Delivery Appointments & Missed Deliveries
For many large furniture deliveries, the carrier will contact you using the phone number or email provided at checkout to schedule your delivery appointment.
Please note:
- A scheduled delivery appointment is required for most freight and white glove services
- Someone must be present for the full delivery window
- The delivery location must be ready to safely receive the item(s), including clear access through doorways, hallways, and stairways
Missed Deliveries & Additional Fees
Missed delivery appointments or failed delivery attempts may result in additional fees, including but not limited to:
- Redelivery fees
- Storage fees
- Liftgate or access-related charges
- Service upgrades or changes after shipment
These fees are determined by the carrier and/or fulfillment partner and are the responsibility of the customer.
Orders may be held by the carrier until any applicable fees are paid.
Important Delivery Requirements
To ensure a smooth delivery experience, please confirm:
- Accurate shipping details are provided at checkout (including phone number and address)
- The delivery location is accessible and ready (no active construction or obstructions)
- Items will fit through all entry points prior to delivery
If your building requires a Certificate of Insurance (COI) for delivery, additional fees may apply.
Multiple Shipments
Items in the same order may ship separately and arrive at different times, depending on warehouse location and availability. You may receive multiple tracking numbers as items are fulfilled individually.
Fulfillment & Packaging
To offer a wide and diverse collection, some items may ship directly from our fulfillment partners and their shipping and logistical networks. As a result, your order may arrive in packaging labeled with Amazon, Wayfair, Walmart, or other logistics providers.
Please note:
- Your purchase is always made directly through Root + Residence
- Our team manages your order and customer support
- All inquiries and returns should be directed to us
This allows us to provide a broader assortment while maintaining reliable delivery.
Shipping Timeframes
Delivery timelines vary by product and destination and are provided as estimates only.
Once your order ships, you will receive tracking information when available. Please note that tracking updates may be limited for certain carriers or freight deliveries.
Delays may occur due to carrier issues, weather, or high-volume periods.
Damaged or Missing Items
If your order arrives damaged, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the item and packaging so we can assist.
If your order is delayed, lost, or marked as delivered but not received, please contact us at info@rootresidence.com and we will help investigate.
Shipping Restrictions
We currently ship within the United States. Certain oversized or specialty items may have additional delivery restrictions based on location.
Additional Information
- Shipping fees are non-refundable once an order has shipped
- Delivery timelines are estimates and not guaranteed
- Root + Residence is not responsible for carrier-related delays beyond our control
